Meet Our Board of Directors

The RUFF Hideaway is led by a dedicated Board of Directors who share a commitment to creating opportunities for youth to grow, learn, stay active, and connect with their community and the outdoors. Each board member brings unique experience and skills that will help turn the vision of The RUFF Hideaway into a lasting resource for youth and families.

Brian Daniels - Founder, President & Director

Brian is the founder and driving vision behind The RUFF Hideaway. He is also the owner of The Hidden Gym and has spent 36 years as a fitness trainer, working with people of all ages, including youth. His decades of experience in fitness, coaching, and youth development helped shape the vision for The RUFF Hideaway—a place where young people can build confidence, develop healthy habits, experience the outdoors, and learn skills that can positively impact their lives.

Darrin " Tiger" Smith - Treasurer & Director

Darrin brings an incredible 41 years of experience in law enforcement to The RUFF Hideaway. His years of service and experience working with people and communities will be especially valuable as he helps lead and develop mentorship programs for our future youth programs. Darrin will help create opportunities for young people to learn from positive role models while developing responsibility, confidence, leadership, and life skills.

Lori Uth - Secretary & Director

Lori currently works with Sibcy Cline Realty, where she oversees the processing and input of new property listings along with everyday administrative and secretarial responsibilities. Her organizational skills and attention to detail will help keep The RUFF Hideaway operating smoothly. As Secretary, Lori will help oversee the organization's day-to-day administrative and secretarial needs.

Charles “Buster” Daniels - Director

Buster has spent the past 39 years working as a prototype technician for Mubea. His extensive hands-on and technical experience makes him a natural fit to serve as The RUFF Hideaway's Property Management Supervisor. He will help oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the property, with a focus on providing a safe, well-maintained environment for the youth, families, volunteers, and community members who use it.

Pam Smith - Director

Pam is a mother of two grown sons and a proud grandmother of four. She's also the green thumb of the group and loves spending time outdoors tending to her garden throughout the growing season. Pam will bring that passion to The RUFF Hideaway by helping supervise and oversee our youth garden programs, giving young people opportunities to learn about growing food, caring for plants, and experiencing the rewards of working with the land.
